Acknowledgement of Country
Edventure Travel acknowledges the traditional owners and sovereign custodians of the land on which our office is situated, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects to their elders, past, present and emerging. We recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website contains images or names of people who have passed away.
About the Country we’re on
The land on which Edventure Travel’s Australian office stands is now known as the City of Maroondah, an area in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. For millennia, the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Kulin Nation have been the traditional owners of this land. You can learn more about the City of Maroondah’s Indigenous history on the council’s website.
Edventure Travel is committed to remembering Australia’s history before and after European colonisation. We recognise the past atrocities against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this land, and we acknowledge that Australia was founded on the genocide and dispossession of First Nations peoples.
We also acknowledge the damaging colonial systems and policies that remain in place today. We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart to achieve substantive constitutional change and structural reform, and to empower First Nations people to take a rightful place in their own country.
Additionally, through our educational programs, we also travel on the lands of many other ethnic minority groups throughout the Asia and Pacific region. We’re committed to learning about the diverse histories and cultures of the people and places through which we travel, and to sharing our knowledge with travellers.
